About

Hi, my name is Mary Rasmussen. This website is my front porch to the Internet. Much of the content addresses my experience as CEO of Virtual CSO. LLC and helping to manage the non profit; The Community Cafe. This site hosts my portfolio, as well as links to articles, mailing lists and resource sites.

My Background

I took my current role as CEO of Virtual CSO, LLC in July 2016. I had run Infostruct, LLC another consulting company for years and understood the needs of a small IT Consulting Company, but the marketplace has changed considerably. Before proping up the company I decided to educate myself. My specialties include; Insider Threat and Privacy, but I take every opportunity to understand all arenas of cybersecurity to better understand client needs and what my Consultants/FTP's offer. I don't believe you can accurately place someone in a role if you don't understand what they do. I cannot bring you the best, if I cannot recognize what the best is.

Besides running Virtual CSO I am also in charge of PR for The Community Cafe. I have gladly worn many hats at the this wonderful non profit. We have 3 free cafes and a free food truck that have served over 400,000 free meals. www.communitycafeusa.com

I have volunteered at the cafe since 2013. I have been Assistant to The President, a chef, volunteer coordinator, a project manager (opening a new cafe, funding and designing the food truck). I am in charge of all fund raising and grant management. I have raised $100,000 for the cafe and set up several relationships with local businesses for leftover products and weekly donations. I appear at least monthly on CN2's What's Cooking Wednesday with a new recipe on behalf of the cafe. I run all social media, website, TV appearances, and advertising. I'm a substitute Chef, a services mentor, and occasionally volunteer at the cafe's, food truck, and pick up donations.

In the past I have been a very successful Commercial and Residential Real Estate Broker Including developer projects, developer seminars, mentorship programs, national referral seminars, new homes and resales, distressed sales, and short sales. Past positions include VP and Office Manager of small consulting firm, Assistant Manager of real estate office, Project lead for a Billion Dollar Real Estate Acquisition, and Project lead and Mentor for International Buyers Club.

In my life I have learned to take advantage of every opportunity. My whole carreer has been based around creativity and problem solving. I have never turned down a project, or passed up a good idea. I have been married for 25 years, have 2 children, have lived in 6 states, and have helped support my husband in his time of service to our country in the USAF.

If you have an opportunity please contact me.

I currently live in a suburb of Charlotte, NC. Outside of work, I enjoy hiking, museum hoping, art collecting, cooking, traveling to new places, and RARELY do I turn down a road trip. Most of all, I enjoy the company of friends and family.
